Lindblad Expeditions / National Geographic operates several different Antarctica product styles. The useful comparison is not just the operator name. It is the combination of Drake crossing method, ship, package logistics, itinerary, and the booking terms that apply to a specific departure.
Current Antarctica product context
For a traditional sailing reference point, Lindblad’s current Voyage to Antarctica is a 12-day Ushuaia roundtrip. The current product page lists National Geographic Endurance and National Geographic Resolution.
Lindblad also markets products that replace one or both Drake Passage crossings with flights. Those should be compared as different operating models rather than treated as interchangeable versions of one generic Antarctica cruise.
National Geographic Endurance
The current National Geographic Endurance ship page reports 138 guests, 116 staff and crew, 76 cabins, six decks, and Passenger Ship Polar Code PC5. Ship assignment still belongs to the product and season, not to the operator as a permanent one-ship relationship.
What to verify before booking
- Crossing model: sail both ways, fly one way, or fly both ways.
- Exact ship and cabin: the same operator can offer materially different onboard products.
- Package start: distinguish the core voyage from any hotel, charter-flight, or transfer package around it.
- Reservation-specific terms: an invoice, promotion, or product-specific term can be more specific than a general policy.
Insurance and medical requirements
Atlas Expedition Guide has not established a current public product-specific numeric insurance minimum for the representative Voyage to Antarctica. That is intentional. A missing public number is not evidence that no requirement exists. The booking documents for the exact voyage should control.
