Punta Arenas is part of the package
The current Classic Air-Cruise includes two hotel nights with breakfast in Punta Arenas at Hotel Cabo de Hornos or similar, group transfers as described by the operator, the Antarctic flight/cruise, and a contingency plan. If you want an extra night before or after the expedition, plan it around those included nights rather than automatically booking a duplicate stay.
Current payment and participation deadlines
Antarctica21’s Terms & Conditions are currently versioned August 4, 2026. They state that the balance is due no later than 120 days before departure and that the Participation Form must be received no later than 90 days before departure. Late bookings have accelerated requirements under the same terms.
Medical and evacuation insurance
The current terms state that insurance covering medical problems, including pre-existing conditions, plus aero-medical evacuation from the areas visited, including Antarctica where applicable, is mandatory. The current terms do not state a universal numeric coverage minimum, so this page does not add one.
Weather contingency matters
The flight component is weather-dependent. Antarctica21’s current terms state that its contingency plan applies when a flight included in the trip cannot operate. That is a practical reason to treat the Punta Arenas hotel and flight package as part of the expedition product, not as incidental lodging.
