Ultramarine is one of Quark Expeditions‘ current polar ships and appears on current Antarctica itineraries. The ship’s equipment and suite mix are useful facts, but they do not replace the need to compare the exact itinerary, gateway package, cabin, and included activities.

Current Quark materials list 199 guests, 140 staff and crew, PC6 ice classification, 20 Zodiacs, and two twin-engine helicopters.
Cabin categories are materially different
Quark’s current deck-plan material identifies native categories including Ultra Suite, Owner’s Suite, Penthouse Suite, Terrace Suite, Deluxe Balcony Suite, Balcony Suite, Explorer Suite, Explorer Triple, and Solo Panorama.
The cabin descriptions distinguish balcony, picture-window, and floor-to-ceiling-window configurations as well as different bed and occupancy arrangements. Atlas Expedition Guide preserves those native categories rather than flattening them into a generic “standard / premium / luxury” hierarchy.
Expedition and public spaces
Current Quark materials identify Zodiac embarkation and ready rooms, Panorama Lounge & Bar, library, Tundra Spa, gym, sauna, Balena Restaurant, Ambassadors Theater, and an onboard Science Hub in current season material.
The two helicopters and 20 Zodiacs are decision-relevant only when the chosen itinerary actually uses the associated activities. A ship having that equipment does not mean every departure includes helicopter-supported experiences.
How Ultramarine can sit inside different trip packages
On some current Quark Antarctic Explorer variants, the traveler package starts in Buenos Aires with a hotel night and a private charter flight to Ushuaia before embarkation. On other variants, the trip starts directly in Ushuaia. The same ship can therefore sit inside different gateway logistics.
What to compare before choosing a cabin
- Suite category, bed configuration, balcony/window type, and deck location.
- The exact departure and product duration.
- Whether the traveler package begins in Buenos Aires or Ushuaia.
- Which adventure options are included, optional, or unavailable on that departure.
- The booking terms and insurance/medical requirements that apply to the exact reservation.
